We escaped last week, before Easter. Just for a night, down to the Bellarine Peninsula. Played for half a day at the Adventure Park, before the storms came over, and we abandoned the cold water for even colder winds, running for the car. I insisted on escaping, because I needed to, and the cat can only do without us for a night.

After busy period, my head starts to spin. My Menieres comes back, and last week, as I bit into a Snickers bar, a very ominous ‘clunk-grind’ happened close to my ear drum, near the site of my surgery last September. I’ve not talked about how that’s been healing this year, because up until the New Year it was still painful. But since, I turned a corner and didn’t want to brag about the good fortunes lest I jinxed myself.

I’m hoping it’s actually a good thing. I’m being my own Dr. Google. As my jaw is managing to open wider and wider, and the fat settles and sorts itself out in the jaw cavity, it’s might be a transitional discomfort, no more. It is maddening though, to have that scraping sound in your ear – literally – when you eat. And when it first happened, I was standing at the train station waiting to come home from work. I remember that familiar acidic spread of panic hit my stomach, then course through the rest of me. There was the fear, the oh not agains.

Work has been stressful as we lead up to the busy time of the year, I’ve not been exercising (more on that later, as I’ve entered another half marathon. Timing isn’t my strong suit.) and so you can see why last week (apart from that headache, not just because of it) I just needed to relax. And so did the rest of the crew.
